Federal Bureau of Investigation
The Federal Bureau of Investigation is concerned with violations of
more than 300 Federal statutes, ranging from bankruptcy to treason.
Among these statutes that are of interest to bankers are the Federal
Bank Robbery Statutes, the Interstate Transportation of Stolen
Property Act, the Federal Reserve Act which concerns defalcations
and embezzlements by bank, savings and loan and credit union
personnel, as well as bank customers who furnish false information,
fictitious or intentionally misrepresented collateral to obtain extension
of credit and Hobbs Act matters that involve extortion of property by
wrongful use of or threat of violence, force or fear.
